The second concert of Vox Urbane's Inaugural London Season: Responses. A series of three curated concerts which reflect upon past musical traditions and offer a new vision of what classical choral music can be, who it is for, and who it can represent. 

 

Responses II, offers a vibrant and eclectic musical response to an uncertain world. The evening includes groundbreaking new vocal music including works by Björk, Imogen Heap, Lillie Harris, Shruti Rajasekar, Joanna Marsh and Caroline Shaw, and a world premiere from acclaimed young composer Emily Hazrati. This new work has been generously supported by the Vaughan Williams Foundation.

 

Hazrati’s new work responds to the historic location of its first performance. It is inspired by the sound of London's bells and the measuring of the passing of time through Greenwich.
